About Krappa
Krappa helps finance and analysis teams create, inspect, and update Excel workbooks using AI-assisted spreadsheet tools.
What It Does
- Builds financial models and analysis sheets.
- Writes formulas and formatted tables into Excel.
- Uses workbook context selected by the user.
- Supports ChatGPT/Codex account auth and bring-your-own-key provider setup.
- Includes backend financial data MCP integrations for customer/admin-provided provider credentials, entitlements, and allowlists.
- Can inspect explicit public webpages and PDFs and use a local calculator tool when the deployment administrator enables them.
Bring Your Own Key
Krappa does not require a Krappa-managed model key for public BYOK usage. Users choose a supported provider from the public model selector and supply their own API key.
Public Provider Options
The public model selector can include ChatGPT/Codex account auth, Google/Gemini, OpenRouter-hosted models, and other enabled providers. Provider availability depends on the user's account, quota, backend configuration, and tenant policy.
Financial Data MCP
Financial data MCP features require the Krappa backend. Provider credentials and MCP configuration stay server-side, and returned data is bounded and sanitized before it is shown in the task pane or written to a workbook.
Public URL, PDF, And Calculator
Configured deployments can inspect explicit public webpages, follow links returned by a page, find literal page text, and perform bounded arithmetic. Native PDF inspection requires a separate administrator opt-in. Retrieved public content includes source metadata and is treated as untrusted data. After successful public retrieval, Financial Data MCP requires a new approved step and workbook changes are blocked by default until a new approved request. These tools do not provide current-time, web search, image search, public finance, weather, or sports lookups.
Limitations
AI-generated spreadsheet content should be reviewed before business use. Krappa does not provide financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice.
